mac80211: update to backports-4.14-rc2 This updates mac80211 to backprots-4.14-rc2. This was compile and runtime tested with ath9k, ath10k and b43 with multiple stations and ieee80211w and in different scenarios by many other people. To create the backports-4.14-rc2-1.tar.xz use this repository: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/backports/backports.git from tag v4.14-rc2-1 Then run this: ./gentree.py --git-revision v4.14-rc2 --clean <path to linux repo> ../backports-4.14-rc2-1 This also adapts the ath10k-ct and mt76 driver to the changed cfg80211 APIs and syncs the nl80211.h file in iw with the new version from backports-4.14-rc2. mac80211: build each variant in its own dir Having different build directories is the default when the package Makefile defines more than one variant. Mac80211 overrides PKG_BUILD_DIR, not taking different variants in consideration, which causes clobbering the directories when both variants are built. When compiled with AUTOREMOVE=y, the effect is that the package is unnecessarily rebuilt when the package is compiled again. Wihout AUTOREMOVE, the problem is worse: the second variant will not be rebuilt, and you end up with the smallbuffers variant being a copy of the regular one. But I could not use it, because CONFIG_KERNEL_DEBUG_FS was not set and it's a little bit hidden. After manually setting CONFIG_KERNEL_DEBUG_FS to y, everything was fine. This patch automatically selects CONFIG_KERNEL_DEBUG_FS if PACKAGE_MAC80211_DEBUGFS is set. Additionally, the help text says "Say N unless you know you need this.", but it's default y. mac80211: add ath11k PCI support ath11k is the upstream driver for Qualcomm 802.11ax radios, both for the internal AHB and PCI based cards. This commit does however only provide PCI support while AHB will follow but its SoC specific so it will require an OpenWrt target first. It differs a bit from ath10k as it requires stuff like QRTR, MHI and QMI helpers. PCI variant requires qrtr-mhi and mhi-bus which backports do provide, however we are dropping those in a patch as they will conflict with support for the AHB variant as that one requires qrtr-smd which in turn requires RPMSG and GLINK and its not feasable to provide those in backports as they are really SoC specific. QRTR and MHI in kernel 5.10 are not usable and backporting the changes is not easy as they have changed drastically from 5.10 to 5.15 ath11k will only be available on targets that use kernel 5.15. kernel: take bcm47xx_nvram.h from kernel and not backports compat-wireless/backports now contains a bcm47xx_nvram.h file to backport some of the functions in it which are used by the bcmfmac driver. This file just checks for the kernel versions and provide an empty implementations on older kernel versions. This is OK on most systems, but on bcm47xx / bcm53xx systems we want to call the real functions here. This commit removes the file from backports in our build process like we do it with the bcma and ssb header files. Instead we add a recent version into our kernel so all code uses only one header file. On bcm47xx / bcm53xx the real implementations of this code will be used.
